AES x PSA: Blomberg Hike & Sommerrodelbahn

We’re teaming up again with the Pakistan Students Association Munich (PSA) for a chill day trip to the Blomberg! Expect an easy-moderate hike with great views, lunch at the Berggasthof Blomberghaus, and a fun ride down on the Sommerrodelbahn. Perfect for beginners and photo lovers - total walking time ~2 hours with lots of breaks.

Highlights

- Scenic forest & ridge trail to Blomberg (1,248 m)
- Lunch stop at Berggasthof Blomberghaus
- Optional short extension to Zwiesel (1,348 m)
- Ride the Sommerrodelbahn down

Itinerary

- 09:45 - Meet at München Hbf (track 27-36)
- 10:02 - Train to Blombergbahn (arrival 11:16)
- 11:30 - Start hike: Blombergbahn valley station (~700 m) → Blomberghaus (1,203 m, ~1:25 h)
- ~13:00 - Lunch at Berggasthof Blomberghaus (à la carte)
- Optional: Continue to Zwiesel (1,348 m, +30 min) and return
- ~15:30 - Descend via Sommerrodelbahn (ticket required)
- 16:30 - Bus + train back
- 17:57 - Arrive München Hbf

Difficulty

Beginner-friendly, steady ascent with good paths. Total gain ~500–550 m if hiking from the valley.
